We here at Sad Senpai and the Gaijin Kid strive to bring you the best in anime entertainment. After doing this for well over a month, we’ve realized that we’re not bringing our best.
After much internal discussion, we’ve realized that our current format just doesn’t work for many potential viewers. Putting the onus on the audience to watch the episode and sync up our audio with it isn’t fun. While the original idea was to have fun with Stephen’s initial reactions, we’ve realized that there are too many cons to one plus.
So, what are we going to do about it? For starters, we’re taking a break this week. I could say that we’re working on improving the show in numerous untold ways, but the reality is that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U came out on Friday and we’re still playing that.
Next week, however, we’ll hopefully have a new episode up in our brand new format – a podcast. That’s right – no longer will you have to watch an anime episode while listening to Stephen scream about something. Instead, we’ll ask that you watch the episode beforehand and come listen to a few guys (one of whom still actively hates anime) talk about the episode in question. We think it will be more fun this way and make it easier for listeners to get into Sad Senpai.
For those who have supported Sad Senpai up until now, thank you so much. It means the world to us to see people enjoying the show. We’ll hopefully continue to provide that same level of enjoyment in a leaner, smarter format going forward.
Now, being all serious doesn’t jibe that well with me so here’s a silly video to send you off:
